Anyway, here’s how you go about cleaning your gutters with this method…
- Set your ladder up with the stabilisers so your ladder is even and balanced…
- Use the standoff brackets so your ladder won’t slide…
- Climb up the ladder with your bucket and hook. I use a hook like this one…
It’s plastic so it won’t scratch or damage your gutter. You can just slide it along as you clean…
- Hook the bucket onto your gutter like this…
The idea is to hook it over your gutter and hook the bucket underneath…
I don’t hook my bucket onto the ladder…
Because I don’t like the idea of being at the top of a ladder and then having an uneven weight hanging off one side of the ladder…
It just doesn’t seem safe…
It’s just how I like to do it. You do it any way you want…
- Either way, the next step is to pull all the debris out and drop it in the bucket…
- Once it’s done, get down and move to the next section of gutter and repeat the process from the beginning
- Then to finish up, you need to flush your gutters out with a garden hose. Don’t forget to pay extra attention to your downspouts…
Make sure you spray the jet stream setting on your hose to blast any dirt that may be sitting inside the top of the downspout…
That’s pretty much all there is to cleaning gutters…
