Most gutter cleaning services in your local area will have a base-level-price for gutter cleaning.
That price is usually around $250 for a small, single story, 2 bedroom home with no gutter guards… then the cost to clean your gutters will increase based on 8 main factors…
The 8 Factors that Determine the Cost of Gutter Cleaning…
- Do you have a single story or double story home?
- Do you have gutter guards?
- When was your last gutter clean?
- How big is your home?
- How much debris is in your gutters?
- Is it easy or hard to access around your home
- Access to your gutters
- Are your downpipes blocked?

This is not the only way to price a gutter cleaning…
Some Gutter Cleaning companies like to give you a price based on the linear meters of your gutters…
So how do you work out the Gutter Cleaning cost per meter?
Gutter cleaning companies that charge based on the lineal meters of your gutters, all have a different per meter cost.
They range between $4.00 to $7.00 per meter…
The lower end is for your single story, no gutter guards, easy to reach gutters…
The higher end is for your double story, gutter guards, harder to reach gutters…
Any time a company has to take out the “Big Bertha” ladder to get it up to your second story, it’s going to cost you a little extra…
To get an idea as to what Gutter cleaning cost per meter, measure around the outside of your home and write that down…
Let’s say it’s 50 meters…
Then times that number by $5.50, which is right in the middle for the cost per lineal meter…
You get and average of $275.
You still need to add gst on top of that figure…
Remember, you could be on the higher end or the lower end. It depends on the type of home you have.
Generally… Gutter Cleaning cost per meter would be around $4.50 per lineal meter.

I don’t know of many gutter cleaning services that charge by the hour but they would still base their price on an hourly rate…
Let’s see if we can break it down for you…
Each gutter cleaning service would start with a minimum rate to clean your gutters.
This would be the price even if it took them 30 minutes to complete your gutter clean.
This base price would range from $200 to $250.
The average gutter cleaning price would be $200…
The thing is… most of the time your gutter cleaning will take more than 2 hours.
Most gutter cleaning services will base your cost on their minimum rate plus the additional hours they estimate it will take.
So it usually looks something like this…
$200 minimum rate…
Plus $100 per hour.
Every company is different but the Gutter Cleaning cost per hour would be around $200 to $250.
It would be safe to estimate the average gutter cleaning costs per hour would be $225.
What if you don’t work with meters but instead want to know the cost of gutter cleaning per foot?
How to work out the gutter cleaning costs per foot…
Most tradies in Australia work on linear meters not linear feet but here’s an easy way to convert our example above so you can get the cost of gutter cleaning per foot…
We worked out the average Gutter Cleaning cost per meter is $4.50
To work out the cost of gutter cleaning per foot, divide $4.50 by 3.281.
You should get $1.37.
I would round it up to $1.50
So…the cost of gutter cleaning per foot is $1.50
How the 8 Factors effect your gutter cleaning prices
So what I’ve explained to you so far is how most companies work out a price to clean your gutters…
But you know and I know that life is never that simple…
There’s always something that can make cleaning your gutters harder to do or even more dangerous to complete…
That’s why there is no standard gutter cleaning price…
For instance…
When was the last time you cleaned your gutters?
If you haven’t had your gutters cleaned in a few years, you’ll probably notice a nice little garden growing in them. If this is the case, then the price to clean your gutters could cost a little more than if you had them cleaned 12 months ago.
So make sure you get your gutters cleaned at least every 12 months to keep the gutter cleaning price down.
Does that make sense?
Now, one of the main factors that affects prices is if you have a double story home…
As you could imagine, cleaning the gutters on a 2 story home is a lot more dangerous than cleaning the gutters on a single story home…
So that will change how much it’s going to cost…
What does it cost to clean gutters on a 2 story house?
A question I get a lot is what does it cost to clean gutters on a 2 story house??

I can’t give you a set price without taking into consideration all of the above factors that I already mentioned…
